ShadeStar - digital tooth shade measurement, fast and reliable.
The capacity of the human eye is limited by nature, and patients' demands for natural-looking esthetics in fillings and restorations are increasing. The conventional determination of tooth shade by the dentist or dental technician is subject to considerable variation. Although the comparison of a tooth to be treated with sample teeth or color rings is tried and tested, it often leads to undesirable deviations. The ShadeStar is a colorimeter. It records red, green and blue image information and digitally combines it into an overall color image. The digitally measured tooth shade can be read in most common shade standards used by ceramic manufacturers.
